
1965 -- Tom Johnson and Bob Benedict born on opposite sides of the country.
1983 -- Tom and Bob enroll at UC Davis as Computer Science majors.
1986 -- Bob and Tom create run away fork/exec loop that brings down computer science lab.
1987 -- Tom graduates in 4 years and starts work at Hewlett Packard.
1988 -- Bob takes a little longer. He joins SPC working on Harvard Graphics under Mario Chaves.
1991 -- Bob joins Arbor Software to work on the first data warehouse. Tom joins the following year.
1992 -- Tom completes his M.S., Engineering Management, at Santa Clara University.
1992 -- Bob publishes Using Harvard Graphics for Windows with 100,000 copies sold in 5 languages.
1993 -- Mario Chaves and his brother Luis Carlos Chaves start Avantica Technologies in Costa Rica.
1994 -- Bob joins Intuit to work on Quicken for US, European markets and hand held devices.
1998 -- Tom joins Ariba as Director of Engineering. Ariba becomes a major Internet success story.
2000 -- Internet boom busts. Bob and Tom consult and work with various startups.
2004 -- Bob joins Macromedia, later acquired by Adobe, as Engineering Director on Breeze.
2005 -- Tom continues to consult doing periodic projects with Avantica Technologies and other companies.
2006 -- Bob joins NetBooks as VP of Development and outsources development to Avantica Technologies.
2007 -- Bob and Tom start Open Mountain working with Avantica Technologies as their development partner.
2008 -- Open Mountain closes record year with several clients launching new products during the year.
2009 -- Open Mountain grows revenues and client base despite troubling economic year.
